Celebrating Outstanding Survey Results!

March 19, 2025

Edmonton Catholic Schools is pleased to share the results of the ECSD Annual Survey and the ECSD Systems Excellence Survey, which reflect the exceptional quality of Catholic education and the positive experiences of our students, families, and staff.

“Our Division is committed to a data-informed approach to continuous improvement as part of our assurance to families that they are receiving an excellent Catholic education with Edmonton Catholic Schools,” shared Chief Superintendent Lynnette Anderson. “The ECSD Annual Survey is an important instrument for us to determine our areas of strength and growth, both at the Division and school levels, as we bring our Plans for Continuous Growth to life in a faith-filled learning environment.”

Between both surveys, we received more than 46,500 responses from students, families, and staff.

ECSD Annual Survey Highlights

The ECSD Annual Survey is a key tool for collecting feedback from students, families, and teaching staff. From November 25, 2024 to January 10, 2025, students in Grades 4-12, certificated teachers, and parents and guardians had the opportunity to share their perspectives.

The survey questions align with the Alberta Education Assurance Framework and the priorities outlined in the Division Plan for Continuous Growth (2023-2026). Families received a survey to complete, which could be returned to the school or submitted by mail.

Overall Satisfaction

Overall, students, parent/guardians and certificated teachers reported high rates of satisfaction or agreement.

95.6% of families expressed their overall satisfaction with the quality of education at their child’s school. Certified Teachers were 96.4%, and students were 86.6%.

"The feedback we receive through this survey is invaluable in shaping the future of Catholic education in our Division. It reaffirms our commitment to excellence and helps us understand where we are succeeding and where we can grow," said Board Chair Sandra Palazzo. "We are grateful to our students, families, and staff for taking the time to share their insights and experiences."
