Father Michael Mireau Youth Faith Day

Father Michael Catfish Mireau Youth Faith Day returns in-person this March. Serve like a superhero.

Updated: January 22, 2025

Edmonton Catholic Schools is excited to announce the return of Father Michael Mireau Youth Faith Day. This in-person event takes place March 17-19, 2025! After a few years of virtual gatherings, the Division and the Board of Trustees are eager to bring together approximately 3,700 Grade 8 students across the Division for a morning or afternoon of faith, fun, and friendship at St. Charles Church.

This event, named in honour of the late Father Michael “Catfish” Mireau, has long been a powerful experience for students. Known for his engaging use of pop culture, including lightsabers and superheroes, Fr. Michael has left a legacy of reaching young people in meaningful ways.

His message of faith, openness, and service continues to inspire students to "serve like a superhero."

  • Faith-based activities that inspire students to connect with their faith in fun and engaging ways

We are planning for 3,000 Grade 8 students to come together at St. Charles Church for Father Michael Mireau Youth Faith Day.

Continuing the Legacy

Father Michael Mireau’s passion for youth evangelization and his creative approach to teaching faith have left a lasting mark on Edmonton Catholic Schools. His legacy of connecting with young people "where they are at" continues to shape the event, helping students live out their faith in practical, everyday ways.
